Hey!
My name is Annyea.
A little bit about me…
I have been following the threads of fiber arts for many many moons. What started as a fun craft, has become a passion and a lifestyle. As I became aware of the toxicity that lives in the textile industry, I shied away from craft store yarn, often synthetic and chemically dyed, and embarked my journey of becoming a conscious consumer, crafter, farmer, and entrepreneur.
I gratefully reside in the Northern Sierra Foothills within Nisenan Territory, tending the Earth in the best way I know how, along side my partner Alex and many animal and plant friends. We grow flower, vegetable and herb filled gardens, and care for our angora goats, llamas, chickens, our mule and of course our pups. Through reciprocal, respectful, loving relations with my animal kin, I grow, harvest, spin, botanically dye, and weave these beautiful natural fibers into one of a kind creations.
I believe that these skills are gifts passed down from our ancestors, filled with wisdom to behold, and I am passionate about keeping these ways alive and well. I facilitate workshops for folks to learn these crafts at various primitive skills gatherings, through my annual fiber arts gathering Sisters of the Loom, and in private lessons.
Kin Weaver is the container for my ever evolving and unfolding love for all of the above, and is the channel through which I share my experience, fiber, yarn, teachings and weavings out into the world!
